In Massachusetts, the Deerfield River basin is
located in Berkshire and Franklin Counties, and includes all or part of 20 towns.
Altitudes of the basin range from 2,841 to 120 ft above sea level.
About 78 percent of the basin is forested and only about 3
percent is urbanized. The following description of the water resources of the Deerfield
River basin is based on Hydrologic Investigations Atlas 506 (Gay and others, 1974). |
