AUTOMATED PROCESS FOR MONITORING GROUND - WATER QUALITY USING ESTABLISHED MANUAL SAMPLING PROTOCOLS

Device and Process for Automated Outreach at Environmental Data
Collection Stations

Notice: This information is for internal use only and should not be released to anyone outside the organization without the prior written consent of the USGS Technology Enterprise Office

The Massachusetts Water Science Center has developed and tested a prototype device and process for automated outreach at environmental data collection stations as part of our Robowell research program.  The Water Resources Division recognized the potential value of this technology, but (because this technology is based upon the use of commercially available components) did not think that the technology would be accepted by the Patent Office as a new and nonobvious technology.  A schematic diagram, and a PDF version of the original invention disclosure is presented herein so that others in the USGS may take advantage of our technology development efforts on this device and process.

Those interested in this and other technologies developed by the USGS  should inquire with the Technology Enterprise Office for more details about this and other technology development opportunities with the USGS.
